Namdapha National Park

#5 of 6 things to do in Changlang

A biodiversity hotspot in the eastern Himalayas, Namdapha s home to more than a 1000 species of flora and 1400 species of fauna. It was declared as a national park and tiger reserve in the year 1983. It is the fourth largest national park in the world. Snow leopard and clouded leopard are among the star big cat species in the park that occur there because of the geographical elevation. There are few settlements of the 'Lisu' tribe within the park, and a few of 'Chakma' and 'Tangsa' tribes around the park area, but most of them lie right on the Indo-Burma Border. While the mesmerizing natural diversity is a treat to any nature lover, the park is also perfect for an adventure enthusiast as it suits certain trekking and hiking activities.
