Located in the historical city of Champaner, Champaner Pavagadh is a UNESCO World Heritage. It is located in the Panchmahal district of Gujarat. There are many historical forts surrounding Champaner and of course the iconic Pavagadh hills. Champaner-Pavagadh has many significant archaeological, heritage as well as historical places. Some of these places are a hill fortress of early Hindu capital, remains of the 16th century capital of the city of Gujarat and a few Catholic sites. The Pavagadh hills are one of the most sought after places in Gujarat. There are many constructions and architecture that imply dates from the 8th century to the 14th century.
There are many Hindu and Islamic influenced architecture seen here. The transition between Hindu and Muslim culture and architecture is documented in the park. This was between the late 15th and early 16th century. The Kalika Mata Temple is of important significance. It is said that a part of the Pavagadh hills is a chunk of the Himalayas that Hanumanji had carried to Lanka in Ramayana. There are a lot of monuments and historical places to explore here. The closest airport to Champaner is in Vadodara which is about 42 km away and an International airport in Ahmedabad is about 125 km away. There are frequent flights from these two cities as they are considered two major cities. From here, tourists can always hire taxis or cabs easily and reach Champaner.

Champaner has its own railway station however it is very small and is not connected to many major cities. The Vadodara railway station is much more convenient to travel to. It is 53 km away from the city and has good connectivity with cities in the country.
There are several buses plying from the city of Vadodara and Ahmedabad towards Champaner. These buses are easily available and very comfortable to travel in. There is an option of the state as well as local buses.
The roads leading to Champaner from Vadodara or Ahmedabad are all in good condition. Buses are usually taken from these major cities to reach Champaner through road.
Travel the city by foot, that gives the best experience of Champaner. However, there are horses also available. One can make their experience even more interesting by asking for rides from the locals. They are immensely friendly and are sure to help out.
Food in Champaner-Pavagadh
Food here is limited as one may not find any restaurants around the archaeological park. However 30 km away from the main location there are some food spots where you can enjoy the beautiful Gujarati thalis. There is no particular cuisine that is followed in this area and hence a variety of food ranging from Italian to Chinese is available.
