Karni Mata temple or the “temple of rats” is a very prominent temple located at Deshnoke which is 30 km away from Bikaner in Rajasthan, India. The temple is renowned all over India for having 20,000 black rats that reside in the temple and are glorified. These rats are acknowledged as consecrated and are declared as “Kabbas”. Several people attend this temple from far off places simply to give their respect to these rats and take their wishes as certainty. The temple spectators a tremendous abundance of visitants and inquisitive travellers from all over India just owing to the proximity of these “rats”. The architecture of the temple was achieved in the bush of the 20th century. The temple is very well-known for its handed-down narratives and folklore. The temple is also considered to be a region of immense worship where people arrive to seek the grace of the goddess. It is also understood that if a rat is killed by someone then one should replace it with a silver rat.
