One of the earliest temples in Bikaner known as Bhandasar Jain temple was constructed in the 15th century. It is embellished with mirror work, frescoes and leaf compositions. The temple is established of red sandstone and is classified into three floors. One can observe the horizon of Bikaner by escalating to the uppermost floor of this temple. It is considered that the temple was constructed with 40,000 kilograms of ghee instead of mortar, which locals declare seeps through the walls on hot days. Bhandasar temple is not only a holy place but is also one of the most celebrated traveller temptations of Bikaner and is toured by devotees as well as sightseers in large numbers.
