Bambleshwari Temple

#9 of 10 things to do in Bhilai

The Bambleshwari temple of Bhilai has a legend attached to it. It is said that somee 2200 years ago, the then King of the region, Raja Veersen was troubled as he had no one to succeed his throne. He then performed a lot of rituals and worshipped Lord Shiv and Parvati religiously. He was then blessed with a son the very next year. Considering it to be a blessing from the gods he had worshipped, he built a temple happily for them.

There is another temple nearby, known as Choti Bambleshwari and thus this temple is also called Badi Bambleshwari.
