How to reach
Aritar is located in Sikkim with a fair connection from the rest of India. One of the best ways is to reach Bagdogra and then head towards Aritar.
How to Reach by Flight
The nearest airport is in Bagdogra, which is around 113 kms away. It takes around 4-5 hours to reach Aritar from there. A lot of cabs and taxis are available for the next part of the journey.
How to Reach by Train
The nearest railway station is in Jalpaiguri, the Jalpaiguri railway station. From there it takes around 4-5 hours to reach Aritar. There are multiple cabs and taxis available to take you to Aritar.
How to Reach by Bus
There are buses from Jalpaiguri to Aritar but they are very few in number.
How to Reach by Road
From Jalpaiguri, Bagdogra and Gangtok, cabs and taxis run to Aritar.
How to travel within
There aren't many options. The best way is to see the tourist spots in the vehicle which you hired to reach Aritar.
Staying in Aritar
There are quite a lot staying options in Aritar owing to its popularity in Sikkim. The hotels have different price brackets suiting to everybody's needs. The people here are quite similar to Nepalese. In fact, it is the origin of some Nepali ethnicities as well. Thus, the culture here resembles their's a lot too. And, where cultures are similar, food habits are bound to be similar too. A lot of places in Aritar sell Momos in a lot of different styles and varieties. Currently, momos are a hot favourite among the Indians and tasting them here, at an altitude of 1498m, the very authentic taste makes it more delicious than ever!
