A paradise for both the migratory birds and the curious bird watchers. Located in the Vembanad Lake is this mass of land that becomes a haven for a variety of migratory birds and all other indigenous fauna. The best time to visit this Island is from June to August, but the migratory birds come in From November to February. The sanctuary spreads across 7 acres of land with lush green tropical trees covering the sky. Even if you are not so enthusiastic about birds this is a place to enjoy the pristine forms of nature. The main attractions include the local waterfowl, cranes, owls, egrets, heron as well as the migratory birds like the Siberian cranes, parrots, teal, larks and other such seasonal visitors.
