Agra is easily accessible through road, rail and air.

How to Reach by Flight

Agra’s Kheria airport is also a military base. It is a seasonal commercial airport and is connected only by Air India flights from New Delhi. The flight from Delhi to Agra is less than an hour long.

How to Reach by Train

There are five railway stations in Agra - Agra Cantt Station (the main station), Agra Fort Railway Station, Raja Ki Mandi, Agra City and Idgah Railway Station. There are regular trains to Agra from cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Gwalior and Jhansi. Trains to Agra also depart Delhi from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station (NZM), which is about 20 minutes south of New Delhi Railway Station. The fastest morning train from Delhi to Agra is the new, non-stop 12050 Gatimaan Express. It will take around 1hr and 40 mins to reach Agra from Delhi.

How to Reach by Bus

Agra has two major interstate bus terminals called Idgah Bus Stand (which is located right in the centre of the city and is 8 kilometres from the Taj Mahal) and ISBT (which is located at a distance of 12 kilometres from the Taj Mahal). Agra is well connected by bus to cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow etc.

How to Reach by Road

Agra is connected to Delhi by NH2 and the new Yamuna Expressway. The drive time is about 4-5 hours depending on traffic and time of the day. Jaipur is connected to Agra by NH11 and is a 4-hour drive.

You can find a number of Taxis, rickshaws and auto-rickshaws in cheaper prices to travel around Agra.

Local Cuisine
Agra, apart from being famous for its monuments, is acknowledged for its exuberant local cuisine. It has one of the best street food serving spots in the country.

1.    Petha
Agra pethas are something which people of Agra die for. Petha comes in wide varieties and tastes ranging from Paan to Kesar.
2.    Paratha
Agra is famous for its Mughlai Cuisine, and hence you would get the best parathas served here.
3.    Mughlai Cuisine.
This is the trademark of Agra. With a vast number of dishes, this is considered as a souvenir from the Mughal era.
4.    Shawarma
Served with green and white mint sauces, the chicken filled roll with thick coats of mayonnaise, the Shawarma is a delight Agra has to offer.
5.    Tandoori Chicken
